SUMMARY:

The Department of Management & Organizational Studies (MOS) at Huron invites applications for a full-time, two-year Program Sessional position to teach courses in the Finance module. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024. The successful applicant would be eligible for extended health and dental benefits, pension, and the ability to engage in departmental and university service, commensurate to the position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Finance module empowers students with both qualitative and quantitative skills crucial for unraveling the intricacies of financial decision-making within private and public sector organizations. The curriculum offers students a comprehensive insight into the dynamics of the economy, financial markets, and an array of financial products and instruments. Acquiring invaluable core skills, students are adeptly prepared to play a pivotal role in assisting businesses with their financial decisions. This strategic preparation sets the stage for thriving careers in financial sector firms and the finance function of any organization, aligning seamlessly with the overarching mission of the program to cultivate adept professionals for sustained success in the dynamic world of finance.

The successful applicant would be required to teach 3.0 undergraduate courses in the Finance module per year in the areas of Corporate Finance, Investment Management and Derivative Securities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates are expected to have a PhD in Finance, Financial Economics, or related field(s). Candidates with a PhD close to completion will be considered as well.
  • Expertise and/or working experience in the field(s) covered by the course(s).
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at university / post-secondary level.
