Mentorship Program

Huron’s Mentorship Program is a vital component of our mission to develop Leaders with Heart.  The program provides a platform for peer mentorship and for our extraordinary alumni network to mentor Huron’s emerging student leaders.

PEER MENTORSHIP

Huron’s Peer Mentorship model establishes connections between our first and second year students with upper year students who can provide insight and support regarding their short-term career and academic goals. Students who engage in Peer Mentorship connect for a minimum of 1 hour per month and participate in a training module with the Career Development Centre to ensure they are prepared to articulate their goals and support their peers.

Students, submit an application online today! Applications close October 21, 2022

ALUMNI MENTORSHIP

Huron’s Alumni Mentorship model establishes connections between our upper year students and Alumni who can provide insight and support to the student as they begin to consider their transition from the post-secondary learning environment to employment or graduate studies. The student and alumni will connect for a minimum of 1 hour per month over a platform that suits both parties, including email, Zoom, Facetime, etc.

Participate in Regular Check-Ins

To review progress within the mentoring relationship, regular check-ins and meeting tracking will be conducted. Megan Dykstra (mentorship@huron.uwo.ca) is available as a resource to all parties throughout the mentoring relationship.

Reflection

Mentors and Mentees are asked to reflect upon their mentorship experience during check-ins and complete a final evaluation of their experience.
