HURON IS THE ONLY ONTARIO UNIVERSITY TO COLLABORATE WITH HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL ONLINE
Harvard Business School Online (Harvard) provides students from all backgrounds with a chance to gain the fundamentals of business thinking. The online Credential of Readiness (CORe) program will enable Huron students to contribute to business discussions and decision-making, whether you’re looking to advance your career, considering graduate school, or exploring new career paths.
Like Huron, Harvard is driven by interactive peer-to-peer engagement and committed to student success. Harvard has designed a virtual learning environment where Huron students can collaborate with other students and a diverse group of professionals from all over the world.
CORe was developed by Harvard faculty members to instill a deep understanding of essential business concepts and problem-solving skills. Mastering the three courses—Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, and Financial Accounting—will give you fluency you need to succeed in today’s workplace.
Business Analytics introduce quantitative methods used to analyze data and make better management decisions. Students will hone an understanding of key concepts, managerial judgment, and be confident applying course concepts to real business problems. Video
Economics for Managers dives into fundamental economic principles like supply and demand, cost, markets, competition, and differentiation. Students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to craft successful business strategy. Video
Financial Accounting will teach the fundamentals of financial accounting. Starting with the basics of recording transactions as journal entries and posting time to T accounts, students will learn how to prepare a balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. Video
Once approved by the Career Development Team at Huron, Huron students are enrolled into a Harvard cohort where they will engage with their classmates in their virtual classrooms, just like being in a small class here on campus. Start dates begin every month with the exception of August and December.
Weekly, Harvard students are assigned new material to learn and engage in conversation online with your fellow classmates, followed by a quiz. Evaluation is based on your participation online, weekly quizzes, and a final in-person test.
Final examinations are currently being conducted and proctored on the Harvard CORe platform in a virtual capacity until further notice.
Students are eligible to register for one of the two formats available:
Extended CORe: 17 weeks | 8-10 hours wkly
Standard CORe: 12 weeks | 12-15 hours wkly
To be considered for the Harvard CORe Program through Huron’s partnership, students must complete the below linked application form 1 month in advance of Harvard’s program application deadlines, which can be found online here alongside cohort start dates and timelines.
