FAQs

General

If I attend Huron, what degree do I graduate with?

All Huron students graduate with a Western University degree.

As a Huron student, you really get the best of both worlds. You have full access to all the social life, facilities and events throughout the overall Western campus and graduate with the same degree. You can even combine Huron classes and majors with those offered at other Western faculties. At the same time, on top of that, everything at Huron and all the additional, unique advantages offered here, are exclusive to Huron students only.

What kind of career options are available after I attend Huron?

Huron is famous in Canada for developing Leaders with Heart; the majority of Huron graduates hold influential leadership roles in Business, Technology, Psychology, Law, International Affairs, Media and more. In fact, Canada’s three largest companies have been led by graduates of Huron! The campus location in Ontario makes it right next door to Canada’s biggest employers too.

How does Huron’s guaranteed paid internships program work?

These can be done anytime during your undergraduate degree over the four-month summer breaks, during the school year part-time, or for a full year between Year 3 and 4.

See examples of Student Internship here.

What are the Huron residences like?

Huron has three residence buildings with different styles of rooms – we have comfortable, private spaces while being in the heart of an incredibly supportive and fun residence community. There are dozens of events throughout the year from dinners, movie nights, trips throughout the city of London and my personal favourite: the residence staff going around all floors during exam season with a cart full of snacks and candies!

Learn more about Residence here.

What is life in London Ontario like?

London is a great place to live because it really is the ultimate student city – in fact it’s currently the third fastest growing city in all of Canada! London has some of Canada’s most lively student neighbourhoods, so all the dining and entertainment spots are designed for student life and are so convenient to reach, especially with the free transit pass the university provides. If you love city life, you’ll love our Richmond Row downtown core and if you love live music, London is famous for its many festivals throughout the year. Every major artist who comes to Canada on tour always holds a concert here. For nature lovers, we have gorgeous provincial parks and the world’s biggest freshwater lakes right at our doorstep.

Huron even has trips for international students throughout the year to places such as Niagara Falls, Toronto, Canada’s biggest theme park and even ski resorts in the winter.

HOW DO I ACCEPT MY OFFER OF ADMISSION?

The deadline to accept your Offer of Admission is stated in your Huron Letter of Acceptance (LOA). To accept Huron’s Offer of Admission, you must complete both of the following steps:

The admission deposit is not an additional fee, it will be applied to your student account and credited towards your overall tuition fees. This admission deposit is non-refundable, however, a full refund of all fees paid to Huron including this deposit, will be issued to you if your application for a Canadian Study Permit is rejected, or if you do not meet the conditions of your Offer of Admission.
