Orientation Week is an annual welcome event hosted for incoming first-year students in September. The purpose of Huron’s Orientation Program is to make incoming students’ transitions into university life easier, more fun and less scary.

By collaborating with all levels of our university, we aim to set up our students for success. Before classes begin, you will meet fellow students in your program, upper-year mentors (Sophs) and key members of our Huron community who will help shape the best parts of your living and learning experiences. This week is your chance to get to know our faculty members and our incredible staff who will provide 1:1 personalized support from the beginning of your university career to your graduation.

Move-in Day

You’re welcomed to campus on Move-In Day, where Huron’s staff and faculty meet-and-greet you while helping carry in your luggage – including our president, Dr. Barry Craig!

International Welcome Week

You’ll receive a warm welcome at the airport the moment your flight arrives. Our International Student Engagement team picks you up from the airport, helps you move into your dorm and takes care of everything you need to navigate moving to a new country: shopping for your dorm room, setting up a bank account, getting a SIM card and more. Before classes begin, enjoy two weeks of exciting orientation events on campus and throughout Ontario to help you make friends and settle into your new home.

Life in London

Located in the heart of Southwestern Ontario, London is the region’s economic, entertainment and cultural hub. With the largest provincial GDP in the country, Ontario is the economic engine of Canada. Living in Ontario means you’ll have quick access to the headquarters of Canada’s major national and multinational employers.

London has now become the fastest growing city in Ontario and the third fastest in the country, meaning there are all kinds of opportunities for you to grow your career here. Whether you would like to pursue internships at top companies, volunteer opportunities in the community or other academic interests, London has it all!

With a strong focus on education, London boasts one of Canada’s liveliest student communities, and many of our entertainment options are built specifically for students.
