Are you in crisis?

Need to Talk?

Our wellness team is here to provide you with a supportive and confidential space to talk about how you are doing. Meet with a member of our team who is there to listen and assist you in creating a plan to feel better. Counselling is strengths and solution-focused so that you leave with strategies and ideas you can apply immediately.

You can book an appointment to talk about:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Low mood and depression
  • Relationships
  • Homesickness or transitioning to university
  • Grief and loss
  • Or anything else that might be on your mind.

Not sure if counselling is right for you? Book a Wellness Consultation or visit our resource library to find self-help or other community resources.
To book an appointment, please complete an Intake Form or email

Individual 20 minute Wellness Drop-in Sessions are available on Monday 3pm-4pm EST, Tuesday 4pm-5pm EST and Friday 1pm-2pm EST

Wellness Services is here to support and help you succeed in university. There may be times you need considerations in your coursework. Please speak with your professors first to determine if they can accommodate deferrals in deadlines. Wellness Services may provide documented support of accommodations when mental health concerns are interfering with a student’s ability to function academically (e.g. unable to attend classes, complete assignments, write midterms/exams).

Students requesting academic accommodations will be assessed on a case by case basis. Attendance of an individual counselling appointment does not guarantee a supportive letter.

If a letter of support is provided, students are required to contact Student Support Services and complete an Accommodation Request Form. All decisions regarding accommodations are finalized by the academic advisor and respective faculty. A supportive letter does not guarantee that a specific accommodation request will be granted.

Please note that documentation cannot be provided for students who were not seen by Wellness Services during the time in question.

In all cases, Wellness Services will work with students to develop meaningful coping and time management strategies to promote their future academic success.

Western’s Official Policy on Accommodation for Illness may be found here.
