Dr. Lifang He wins McGorman Fund Award
Dr. He’s project will fill a scholarly gap by examining the literary works written by both well-studied writers and under-examined women authors.

Huron is excited to announce Dr. Lifang He as the 2018-19 recipient of the McGorman Fund award!

Dr. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of French and Asian Studies at Huron. Her research explores the literature of Chinese women writers during the Republican period in the first half of the twentieth century. Dr. He’s project “will fill a scholarly gap by examining the literary works written by both well-studied writers and under-examined women authors such as Feng Yuanjun, Ling Shuhua, Shi Pingmei, and others.” In part, the award will enable Dr. He to hire an undergraduate research assistant to contribute to her project, thus expanding opportunities for Huron students to engage in scholarly research in partnership with faculty.

Established in 2007, the McGorman Family Faculty Development Fund provides financial resources to help support faculty in leading-edge research projects in their fields of study and further enhance the profile of Huron as a place of higher learning.

Congratulations Dr. He!
