Fourth Year Student, MOS - Policy & Ethics
I was able to hone the skills I was learning in the classroom, while leveraging my professors’ expertise in consulting
When Angelique learned that the community-based learning (CBL) course Management and Organizational Consulting (MOS 4488) provided the chance to consult with a local company, she was “more than excited” and immediately applied.
“I was able to hone the skills I was learning in the classroom while leveraging my professors’ expertise in consulting. Community-centric learning is a great way to build a knowledge bank of real-life experience before fully entering the workforce.”
Working with a small team of classmates, Angelique provided pro-bono consulting to a local real estate brokerage. Her team delivered strategies on how to improve the company’s recruitment and retention of employees, as well as insights on expansion into a new city.
She learned about dealing with multiple variables and overcoming obstacles, professional conduct, teamwork, goal-setting, and work/life balance.
“It really hits you. You’re actually making a difference to a company and creating change WHILE working on your degree."
“It’s an experience every student should have.”
